What happened with the National Guard issues that came to light during the last campaign?

We are proud to say that we have taken back our National Guard and rebuilt trust and lines of communication with the men and women who serve. We have overhauled the Alaska Code of Military Justice, hired our first Provost Marshal to report criminal activity to the appropriate civilian agency, and established an open-door policy that allows any solider or airmen to raise concerns to leadership, outside the chain of command. The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs has provided a full report on this work to members of the Legislature. The National Guard continues to prioritize and move forward on raising the standard of transparency and accountability, under the leadership of the first female Adjutant General in Alaska history, General Laurie Hummel.
